“He that will not apply new remedies must expect new evils; for time is the greatest innovator.” – Francis Bacon

Type: Event (Fundraiser of sorts but also a launch party)

Category: Anti-Rape

Organization: Men Can Stop Rape

When I volunteered at a domestic violence shelter this summer, one of the things we talked about is how part of ending domestic violence is in getting men to tell other men it’s wrong, for it to become unpopular among men. I think the same way is true with rape. We have to have men saying openly and to others that rape and any form of sexual harassment are wrong. That’s why Men Can Stop Rape is such an important organization to me. They are having their 2010 Men of Strength Awards. It will be in Washington DC on September 22nd. Find out more details here.

This webinar, Green and Sustainable Schools, will be held on August 25th (next week) starting at 11 am Central time. It does not list a cost, so I’m going to assume it’s free, but don’t take my word for it. Also, it looks like you will be able to view the sessions on demand after the fact if you can not make it on the day, you just need to make sure that you are registering beforehand. You can register here.
